Thermal Image UK (TIUK) is delighted to be supporting environmental charity Climate Action Strathaven (CAS) as part of CAS’s newly launched “Retrofit Strathaven” project. TIUK will be carrying out a series of air tightness tests and thermal imaging surveys across housing in Strathaven to measure air permeability and air leakage, and detect missing or displaced insulation.

Another classic application for thermal imaging is identifying problems with cavity wall insulation.
While infrared can be a useful tool on most building surveys, it's when identifying hidden problems such as damp or missing cavity wall insulation, that it comes in to its own.
Symptoms for the householder can be cold spots with condensation forming internally, and a feeling that the wall insulation is not performing.
