Unlsealed drylining - number 1 cause of heat loss in new homes

If you've bought a new house and its colder than it should be, chances are you could be suffering from the #1 cause of heat loss in new houses in the UK - unsealed dry-lining

The best time to undertake thermal imaging of roofs is at the end of a long sunny day, when the sun has just gone down.

When the cavity wall insulation (CWI) installer doesn't pump in quite enough insulation, you get this honeycomb effect, with heat loss in circles around the injection point. While this may have a limited heat loss effect, a bigger issue may be the creation of corresponding cold spots internally which could act as a point for the formation of condensation and/or potentially mould.
