If you've bought a new house and its colder than it should be, chances are you could be suffering from the #1 cause of heat loss in new houses in the UK - unsealed dry-lining.
Building regulations and NHBC guidance all point to the need for dry-lining to be sealed around the perimeter, but in our experience this is often not done, or not done properly. When cold external air can get between the plasterboard and the inner block leaf, the insulation is bypassed.
