TIUK Supports "Retrofit Strathaven" project

Thermal Image UK (TIUK) is delighted to be supporting environmental charity Climate Action Strathaven (CAS) as part of CAS’s newly launched “Retrofit Strathaven” project.

TIUK will be carrying out a series of air tightness tests in housing across Strathaven to measure air permeability and air leakage, and also to record a short smoke test video identifying the location of draughts. TIUK will also undertake thermal imaging to detect areas of missing or displaced insulation. This is testing that TIUK has undertaken for other community groups across Scotland.

Tom Barbour, Director of TIUK and also a Trustee of CAS said, “I’m really delighted that TIUK can provide this testing to CAS on a free basis, to help CAS move quickly to develop it’s Retrofit Strathaven project. I’ve seen first hand at various projects around the country the importance of ensuring good air tightness and thermal performance. Addressing unnecessary energy loss in housing is critical if we are to successfully tackle the climate crisis".
